Bébésaurus Association is a non profitable breeding. The sell of hatchlings born in our breeding center allows us to finance part of the breeding costs. There are no employees. The main aim of the association is to counter WC animals import, allowing saurian lovers to get lizards from our breeding and limiting the taking of WC animals. This policy, which is followed by most of French breeders, goes forward at the same time of changes in attitude of mind of herpetoculturistes, that has taken place in the last years. This changes, that drives us to prefer a captive bred reptile to a wild caught reptile, is -in my opinion- bearing fruit. Moreover, as profit is not our priority, we can breed lizards we love even if this breeding is not economically profitable, i.e. Hydrausaurus weberi and Uromastyx species, whose maintenance is a financial gap! Olivier Antonini, the president of our association, regularly writes articles on Reptilmag and Situla magazines. He has written a book on ecology and breeding of Uromastyx (which has been published in 2004) thanks in part to the work and studies he has made at the breeding center.
